The Koehler K64890 LPG Copper Strip Corrosion Test Apparatus is specifically designed to assess the corrosiveness of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) on copper components by immersing a polished copper strip in the LPG sample under elevated temperature conditions. Conforming to ASTM D1838, GPA 2140, and ISO 6251, this apparatus enables testing of up to five samples simultaneously. The system includes five stainless steel LPG Corrosion Test Cylinders equipped with 1⁄4” needle valves for purging and sample admission, as well as dip tubes with hooks for strip suspension. The cylinders are sealed with knurled threaded caps and O-ring gaskets, capable of withstanding hydrostatic pressures up to 1000 psig (6895 kPa). The temperature-controlled water bath, constructed with a polished stainless steel inner wall and powder-coated outer casing, fully insulates the bath medium (6.1 gal / 23.1 L) and maintains a test temperature of 100°F (37.8°C) with ±1°F (±0.5°C) stability, exceeding ASTM accuracy requirements. The system also includes copper strips, polishing materials, and the full ASTM Copper Strip Corrosion Test Standards for proper test execution and rating. This apparatus is ideal for laboratories and quality control environments evaluating LPG quality and compatibility with copper-based systems.
