The Koehler K93495 High Frequency Reciprocating Rig (HFRR) is a fully computer-controlled tabletop instrument engineered to evaluate the lubricity of diesel fuels and material wear performance under both dry and lubricated conditions. Conforming to ASTM D6079, D7688, ISO 12156, IP 450, EN 590, and CEC F-06-A specifications, the system utilizes a reciprocating motion between a fixed test disk and a steel ball, submerged in a 2 mL fuel sample maintained at 25 °C or 60 °C. Operating at user-selectable frequencies from 10 to 200 Hz and strokes up to 2 mm, the apparatus simulates wear through a 75-minute oscillation cycle. The Koehler HFRR measures real-time frictional force, coefficient of friction, and temperature using high-precision sensors, while digital microscopy and software record wear scar dimensions. Equipped with a voice coil actuator, closed-loop frequency control, and electric force transducer technology, the rig ensures excellent repeatability and reproducibility. User-friendly software allows for automated test sequences, easy calibration, and comprehensive data acquisition, making this advanced Koehler testing system an ideal solution for R&D and quality control laboratories in the fuel and materials science industries.
