The Koehler K93179 Benchtop Four Ball Wear and EP Tester is a state-of-the-art system engineered for evaluating the coefficient of friction, wear preventive (WP), and extreme pressure (EP) properties of lubricants and greases. Fully conforming to ASTM D2266, D4172, D5183, D2596, D2783; CEC L-45-A-00; IP 239, IP 300; and DIN 51350 series standards, the instrument uses a rotating 12.7 mm steel ball pressed against three stationary balls submerged in lubricant. The Koehler Four Ball Tester supports rotational speeds up to 2000 RPM, test temperatures up to 200 °C, and axial loads up to 1000 kg via a servo-pneumatic closed-loop loading system. An integrated digital load cell precisely measures friction force and coefficient of friction, while lubricant temperature, RPM, and load variables are captured through real-time data acquisition software. The tester features an intuitive 15-inch multi-touch control panel, AC servo motor for precise speed regulation, and a dynamic loading module capable of constant, incremental, or stepwise loading profiles—ideal for advanced tribological studies, including Stribeck curve evaluation. Designed with built-in safety systems for speed, temperature, and load, and equipped with USB 3.0 for fast data export, the Koehler K93179 ensures robust performance, reliable results, and full customization to meet the demands of modern lubricant R&D and QC labs.
